Jessica’s path into the building industry wasn’t conventional - it was lived.

Like many homeowners, Jessica entered the building process excited, prepared and ready to create a home for her family.

What she didn't expect was the amount of information she would have to fight for, the questions left unanswered and the countless decisions expected of her before she had been given the full picture.

The deeper she travelled into the journey, the more she realised she wasn't alone.

Too many homeowners were signing contracts they didn't fully understand, navigating confusing processes and making expensive decisions without the knowledge they deserved.

At the same time, life delivered its greatest challenge.

While building her home, Jessica's husband Matt was diagnosed with an aggressive stage IV brain cancer.

Just three months later, he was gone.

In a season marked by grief, motherhood and unimaginable change, Jessica continued documenting everything she was learning.

The questions. The lessons. The mistakes. The things nobody seemed willing to explain.

Not because she wanted to become part of the building industry.

Because she wanted to help people navigate it.

With Matt's encouragement, and the unwavering support of her three children, those notes became a mission.

That mission became She Builds.

And She Builds became Abeaud.

Abeaud exists to help new builders ask better questions, make informed decisions and stay one step ahead throughout their build.
